Baptism is a sign of our commitment to follow Jesus Christ and his teachings, and to be a part of the fellowship and love of Christ's universal church, the body of Christ. The sacrament of Baptism is an outward and visible sign of the grace of God. In Baptism, we experience the power of forgiveness, renewal of the spirit, and knowledge of God's call to be his people always.
Baptism marks acceptance into the care of Christ's church, a sign and seal of God's grace and forgiveness, and the beginning of a Christian faith and life.
Park Ridge Community Church recognizes the validity of all baptisms; therefore, there is no need for re-baptism.
Baptism is a personal celebration in the lives of individuals and their families. It is also cause for celebration within the local church family and a recognition of the congregation's commitment to support and nurture them on their faith journey. For this reason, Baptism at PRCC is normally integrated into the Sunday morning worship services.
If there are special circumstances, arrangements can be made for a private baptism. To schedule a baptism, please contact the church office to speak with a pastor.

Park Ridge Community Church offers its support and resources for its members during time of grieving and remembrance. Our ministers are available to help you plan and preside at services honoring the life of a loved one: funeral or memorial service in the church, visitation at a funeral home, and a committal service at a final resting place.
All of these services have common purpose; to comfort one another in our grief, to gather in community, and proclaim Christ crucified and risen. A Christian funeral is not a tribute to how wonderful you were, but rather an affirmation of the saving power of God. The liturgy for the dead is an Easter liturgy; finding its meaning in the resurrection. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we, too, shall be raised.
The pastor will meet with you to create a service that is personal, meaningful and appropriate to the needs of the bereaved. The church provides suggested readings and music, allowing you to personalize the service. Selection of music, musicians and soloists are made with the Minister of Music.
Memorial Gifts
Memorial gifts are often given at the time of a person’s death instead of flowers. It is a way to say that the person was important and will be missed. They can also celebrate a birthday or anniversary or other remembrance of someone close. Gifts may be designated to a special fund for use or may be given as an undesignated gift to the Memorial Fund.
The Memorial Gifts committee keeps a list of projects that represent the needs and desires of the congregation. The goal is to use any gift funds in significant ways that are useful to the congregation.
Some recent projects include new carpeting and artwork for the Sunday school wing, new landscaping for the garden, and a modernization of the church's security systems.
Some memorial gifts can be given to honor someone who is still alive, as a celebration of one’s life at an anniversary, birthday, or just to say thanks.
