Bible Study

Wednesday Night Bible Study

Wednesday evening Bible Study from 7 – 8:30 pm

resumes on September 16.

From September 16 through November 4, we will study the entire book of Romans. This study written by Pamela Eisenbaum and Phillip Hall is a short term Disciple Study. “The challenge we face as students of Romans today is learning to engage in our own interpretative conversation with the text, in spite of the deeply entrenched tradition of interpretation that provides ready-made answers to a set of predetermined questions.”

“Forward in Faith” is our autumn worship series theme. As our school year opens and world events unfold, we intend to love our neighbor with faithfulness and courage. We will study within biblical and 12 step approaches our journey toward spiritual wholeness.

The Apostle Paul went forward in the first century, city by city. He gathered people and taught. A few years ago, 47 PRCC folks experienced Paul's footsteps though Greece… and have very real exposure to the mission, faith, hope and love, he taught. Scholars believe Romans was written by Paul from the city of Corinth in Greece.

Romans, the longest of his letters, can be traced through the history of the early church and Reformation. The historical understanding of grace and inclusion of both Jewish and Gentile people will be explored. Then, as a lifelong "conversation" with Paul is invited, Romans is considered again with 21st century scholarship and our experiences.

Healing and well-being matter. Community and interfaith living come into focus.

We “Shine!” as confident in this grace and love. Please join us beginning September 16th.

Books are available for $10 each in the church office.
