Crop Walk

Each fall Park Ridge Community Church joins with other churches in the area to participate in the annual CROPWALK. CROP stands for Communities Reaching Out to People and is a 60-year tradition. The local designated recipient of 25% of funds raised is the Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry.
This year, the walk stepped off from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect, Park Ridge, IL. In all, we had 180 walkers and our goal was to raise $30,000. 11 churches participated in the event with 25% of the money will be donated to the Maine Township Food Pantry.

CROP Walks are community fundraising events organized by Church World Services. CWS was organized in 1946; the CROP program began in 1947. The first CROP Walk was held in Bismarck, ND, on October 17, 1969. The first CROP Walk in Park Ridge was held 1992.
